The Cough Assist KALOS with EFA® technology (Expiratory Flow Accelerator) from the manufacturer Medical Product Research (MPR) helps patients whose ability to cough effectively is severely limited. These patients are unable to cough up secretions on their own due to diseases of the respiratory system.
The Cough Assist function initially generates an overpressure in the patient’s respiratory system that can be adjusted on the device, and then switches to a negative pressure that is also adjustable and independent of the overpressure in a very short time, which enables the secretions to be mobilized and coughed up more easily and effectively.
The innovative, globally unique and patented EFA® technology offers a particularly gentle therapy for ineffective coughing by accelerating the exhalation flow. EFA® promotes deep drainage and secretion removal without exerting additional pressure on the airways. This means that EFA® is not only a valuable therapy supplement but can also be used as an alternative for patients who do not accept Cough Assist therapy.
